Hey fancy fans its The FancyFashionB here, with your plug on who got's next! We're constantly on the search for today's hottest talents, and keeping you guys up to date on whats trending in entertainment, health, beauty, and fashion. The easy part is that some of those go hand in hand. We got the pleasure of being introduced to a very talented artist representing two states, who goes by the name of Hollywood Swervo. He's fresh, he's vibrant, and definitely someone to look out for. Check out this exclusive interview...
FFB: Hello, and thank you for the interview
HS: No thank you for having me, it's really a pleasure
FFB: Okay, so tell us where you're from?
HS: I was born in Minnesota, and raised in Lithonia Georgia; and I represent both of those states
FFB: Okay, okay there is certainly nothing wrong with showing love for your neighborhoods. So where did all this music stuff originate from?
HS: I've always wanted to be a rapper, and it started from watching my father rap, and him doing his music thing as I grew up. I remember watching him at his shows, and that really inspired me to want to do it. Also, coming up watching my favorite artists like Wayne and Roscoe Dash really fueled me to begin fostering this talent I have come to love.
FFB: That's cool so you're no strange to it as a craft, and all the hard work it takes to be great.
HS: Nah, and I'm ready!
FFB: I love the energy, and trust that we are anxious to see what you're about.
FFB: Okay, so who are some of your music influences either past of present.
HS: Well, like I mentioned already my father has been my main influence, and I do give him his credit for being a part of music and whats its about. I also, draw a lot of inspiration from Wayne (One of my favorite artists), and of course some of the already legendary greats like Pac, Biggie, Eminem. I'm striving to create my own legacy and land among them.
FFB: Right, goals!
HS: (Laugh) yeah!
FFB: That's cool! Who in the industry are you looking to work with besides Lil Wayne.
HS: Anyone willing to make good music and create good vibes, but to drop some names for you lets see, Roscoe Dash, Drake, Meek Mill, Lil Uzi Vert, Fabolous, 21 Savage, Cassidy, and 2 Chains to name a few.
FFB: Alright, a few of them have some real gas.
HS: I just want to make music!
FFB: Hey, its a beautiful thing doing what you love. Alright, what do you think is more important, staying true to you and your style or getting all the money and gaining all the fame?
HS: I think both are important, but I stay 100 over everything so being myself is important to me, however the plan is to make as much money as possible while doing it. I'm looking to grow and foster a real solid fan base. My fans are who help me great. They make us who we are by all the love and support for our projects, staying fly in our merch, so I got to be me, that's who my fans love. They are the factors that matter most to me, and my goal is to never let them down. So sticking to my craft, as I become better and create music that engages and inspires them is what I'm in this to do. I'm making this music for myself and them. (Laugh) I'm building a cult following (laugh) so yeah, staying to true to me is my style and the highest rank for me.
FFB: That's a solid approach to take fan appreciation seriously. I think it works because, you see all too often artists get lifted to the point where their fans then become nothing to them. Classic example in my opinion is Kanye West. I mean it's like they forget that the fans are the ones that make up the numbers.
FFB: We want to know who you think is today's best representation of hip hop?
HS: Man, I think everybody out there is, and I love how spread out hip hop is becoming. Everyone contributing, and doing their parts to continue to make this thing great, and its only going to get bigger.
FFB: That's love right there, especially since we got more and more HOT emerging talent.
HS: Exactly, so what everyone puts into it as far is their part and what they do to help make all of it still such a unique culture.
FFB: That part! So, outside of the music what is Swervo doing for fun? Tell us what other hobbies you have.
HS: I'm pretty chill, and don't do much. I like to turn up with my bro's, and the ones I care about most. I'm into this music 100%, and I'm like a robot when it comes to anything else.
FFB: Man, I'm going to have to help you out with that, there is so much out there to see, do, and learn.
HS: Hey, if this music gets done, I'm down. Music will always be my core passion, but once that's done I'm game to try something new, so let's go!
FFB: Alright, and it's on record now (laugh).
FFB: Okay, last question; What are some traits you possess, that will create and allow you to remain successful in the industry?
HS: Well, I'm going to always stay dedicated to my fans, and make sure I continue to produce quality music. Their opinions matter to me, so fostering that aspect will take me far. Also, staying consistent with it, will also matter, because I don't want to keep my fans waiting. Apply this tactic will lead to my longevity in the game.
FFB: Alright, so quality, and an unorthodox approaching the music, and consistency is going to be how you drive this train, huh. I can dig it.
FFB: Sound like a winning game plan to me.
HS: Oh yeah, I'm in this to do nothing but WIN!
HS: I'm also very humble, and I'm trying to see everyone who is out there trying to do what they love thrive. Support me I'll support you, let's share the investment.
FFB: Well, that's it, thank you for your time, we'll definitely being following you.
HS: I appreciate it, thank you!
